Death Race 2010 Declared a Success!

“Unofficial” Press Secretary Report

Tasha Aramata – 2010.08.24

SIRadio would like to congratulate Bryan Ward aka Rixx Javix the author of the EVEOGANDA Blog for the creation and successful running of the Death Race!!! We hope it is just the first of many Death Races that will occur in the EVE universe.

By all accounts the event went off “without a hitch.”  Sixty of the seventy five racers entered made it to the starting system of Assah, and raced through the heart of Providence.  In the end it was Persephone Astrid that took the checkered flag, and will be forever known as the first winner of the DEATH RACE (2010)!

You can find final results and race information here.

Thanks for tuning in…

Blog Banter #20 – Griefing in EVE

SI Radio Member Blog Banter Entry #20: Agatir Solenth – 2010.08.25

Welcome to the twentieth installment of the EVE Blog Banter, the monthly EVE Online blogging extravaganza created by CrazyKinux. The EVE Blog Banter involves an enthusiastic group of gaming bloggers, a common topic within the realm of EVE Online, and a week to post articles pertaining to the said topic. The resulting articles can either be short or quite extensive, either funny or dead serious, but are always a great fun to read! Any questions about the EVE Blog Banter should be directed to crazykinux@gmail.com. Check out other EVE Blog Banter articles at the bottom of this post!

With the recent completion of the 3rd installment of the Hulkageddon last month, @CyberinEVE, author of Hands Off, My Loots!, asks: “Griefing is a very big part of EVE. Ninja Salvaging, Suicide Ganking, Trolling, and Scamming are all a very large part of the game. What do you think about all these things? You can talk about one, or all…but just let us know your overall opinion on Griefing, and any recommendations you may have to change it if you think it’s needed.”

Astrometrics Skills V

Finally!!!

Astrometrics V

Astrometric Acquisition V

Astrometric Pinpointing V

Astrometrics Rangefinding V

And thanks to my corpmate Tal Istrom, I am the proud owner of a Poteque Pharmaceutical ‘Prospector’ PPG-2 Implant.  That leaves me the Poteque Pharmaceutical ‘Prospector’ PPH-2 and the Low-Grade Virtue Set to complete my quest for Epic Level scanning skills!

A quick check of contracts shows complete Low-Grade Virtue sets listed between 2.9 & 3.0 billion.  That’s right billion!!!  So this goal is gonna take me a bit longer than expected.

But what else is do I got to make iskies for?

So what has this gotten me so far?  Well flying my Legion setup for probing (Emergent Locus Analyzer & 2 Medium Gravity Capacitor Upgrades) grants me with Sister Combat Scanner Probe strength of 62 & Sister Core Probe strength of 125 with no implants.

Why do so much for so little gain?  Because I can!  This is my sandbox experience… go build your own castle.

Fly Safe…. Stay Profitable…

SIRadio to Open Doors to New Member Recruitment

“Unofficial” Press Secretary Report

Tasha Aramata – 2101.08.19

I am pleased to announce that SIRadio shall be opening it’s doors to new member recruitment come September 2010.

Exact details of any requirements for future applicants have not been made available at this time.  However, current rumors are that the SIRadio leadership will be seeking EU & EST & PST friendly pilots, that drink beer (exceptions have been made for bourbon and scotch drinkers), and are fans of the Planet Risk Show Podcast.  Not that Quivering Palm or Luminus Aardokay are seeking ass kissers…  well actually they are… But if you can’t stand listening to those two for a three hours, how are you going to deal with Estar Tarns on vent?

Expectations are that Agatir Solenth shall lead up the recruitment drive, and will be blogging about the specifics sometime in early September.

This will all tie-in with the show’s second season, also planned for Sept 2010 with some fresh ideas and format – so for now stay tuned!

Summer Update From Providence

SI Radio Member Report :  Summer Update From Providence – 2010.08.15

Greetings my fellow corp men and women & blog readers!!!

By some of the complaining I’ve read, not a lot of folks have anything new going on during the summer months, but I can tell you from my perspective… a lot is happening.

To begin with, our little pocket of space in Providence has gotten a bit “smaller.”  Noir. has sold one of the systems to Luminance Alliance.  I logged in earlier this week to find a number of neutrals in my local window.  Luckily it was due to the fact that our leadership hadn’t been on yet to flag them as blue.  EVEmails went out to inform the rest of the corp, and no friendly fire incidents occurred.  Some of the corp think the pocket might be a bit to overcrowded.  I for one think it will make the pocket better.  As they claim sov it will mean more upgraded system(s).  With their members the current upgraded systems will be less likely to drop in their sov levels due to lack of activity, and we may have the numbers to properly run mining ops.  Yes some of those juicy anomalies will be claimed a bit faster, but in the end… it can only mean more of them.  Now all we have to do is to see if they “play nice.”

Secondly, in one week I will have finished my last Astrometrics skill to level V.  I then begin to work toward making the isk to get all the necessary implants I discusses in my previous blog.  At my current skill levels and ship’s equipment my Sisters Combat Probes have a strength of 58 (base strength of 22).  Needless to say I can’t wait to see what it will be with the implants.  One last item regarding scanning…  ***Tip – You can increase the strength of your scan results as much as 7% but just moving your probes to be on the same plane as the signature you are scanning.*** When I get my skills maxed and implants loaded I plan on doing a few tests, and will report the results.

Fly Safe… Stay profitable…

Not Enjoying EVE? What Corp Are You In?

SI Radio Member Report: Agatir Solenth – 2101.08.10

Greetings my fellow corp men, women, & blog readers!!!

There appears to be this general lack of enthusiasm of late.  Some folks are upset over recent CSM reports of CCPs lack of resources devoted to their concerns.  Others are upset at the general lack of activity due to the summer month slump of the online population.  Others just can’t seem to find the “fun” often described in blogs.

First let us understand… anyone that takes the time to spend hours upon hours playing a game, has to be a fan.  If not, then you’d have to be a masochist.  If you are not enjoying the game, then you have to ask yourself two questions:

I think I can… I think I can… FC

SI Radio Member Report: Agatir Solenth – 2101.08.04

Greetings my fellow corp men, women, & blog readers!!!

Things have been pretty quiet down in Providence.  It would seem that we are in the typical slump of summer.  It is time when everyone finds it much more enjoyable to be out in the sun, with friends and family, instead of flying internet space ships.  Damn you all that have real lives! How dare you…

Needless to say that hasn’t stopped a few of us in SI Radio to go out and have some fun.  We moved out to 0.0 to give PvP a shot, and that is exactly what we have attempted to do.  Null sec means small gang roams, gate camps, and pew pew pew.  To that end someone has to take the reigns and lead their fellow pilots to… a great blob of death… err I mean… victory!  So I decided I’d give this FCing thing a shot.  How hard can it be?

EVE Blog Banter #19

EVE Blog Banter #19: Agatir Solenth – 2101.07.06

Greetings my fellow corp men, women, & blog readers!!!

Welcome to the nineteenth installment of the EVE Blog Banter, the monthly EVE Online blogging extravaganza created by none other than me, CrazyKinux.

This months topic comes to us from @evepress, who he asks: The CSM: CCP’s Meta Game? The CSM, an EVE players voice to CCP. Right? In the grand scheme of things yes, the players bring up issues and the CSM presents them to CCP. But in its current iteration the CSM was supposed to be given small authority to assign CCP assets to projects that the CSM thought needed work on. As it has come out, this was not the case. So fellow bloggers, is the CSM worth it, has the CSM improved the game in any way, or is it just a well thought out scam by CCP to give us players a false sense of input in the game? What’s your take? Read the rest of this entry »

To Be, or Not to Be… such is the way of PvP

SI Radio Member Report: Agatir Solenth – 2010.07.20

Greetings my fellow corp men, women, & blog readers!!!
If given a choice to either run plexes for isk or go lose some isk pvping?  I would gladly choose the later of the two.  NPC AI just bores the snot out of me.  I equate it to my early arcade game experience with Pac Man (yes I am dating myself).  Once you discover the correct route (or tactic) against the computer, you cannot fail.  It is just a matter of repeating the same course of action again and again that dictates success.

However meeting another player will never reproduce the same fight or outcome.  It is just human nature.  We adapt to overcome.  So in each engagement, though we may have particular tactic that works most of the time, we must be prepared that it may not work.  This is what makes pvp exciting.  You always have the anxiety of the unexpected, and the thrill of success or the disappointment of failure.  No matter which you experience you learn from it and then desire to go at it again.  Probably more so in defeat, if only to prove to yourself… that won’t happen again!
